Before You Book Your Trial Lesson

Let’s Clear the Stage... and the Questions!

What makes Bartell Music Academy different?

At Bartell Music Academy, we combine professional music education with a family-friendly, encouraging environment where every student feels seen, supported, and celebrated.

Here’s what sets us apart:

• Flexible program options: private trial lessons, 4-week group Kickstart, monthly or annual memberships

• Opportunities for creativity: Repertoire Challenges, Recitals, Academy Bands

• A warm and welcoming atmosphere for students and families

• Professional office support, clean facilities, and a true community spirit

When you step into our Academy, you’re not just signing up for lessons, you’re joining a music family.

Is it too late for me to start music as an adult?

Not at all...it’s never too late.

In fact, many of our adult students are:

• Just starting for the first time

• Returning after years (or decades!) away

• Looking to learn for fun, stress relief, or a lifelong dream

We create a personalized plan based on your pace, goals, and learning style — with no pressure and no judgment.

You bring the curiosity, we’ll bring the support.

What if I’m not ready to enroll after the trial?

That’s completely okay. We’ll meet you where you’re at.

Your trial lesson is a low-stress way to explore and decide if it’s the right fit.

Afterward, you’ll leave with:

Personalized practice notes from your instructor

• A clear picture of your options moving forward

• Encouragement — whether you’re ready now or later

We believe in support, not pressure. You’re always welcome to reach out when the time feels right.

What is the trial lesson like?

It’s a real, private one-on-one lesson...not just a tour.

You’re not just meeting the teacher, you’re actually learning and playing.

During your trial, you’ll:

• Meet your instructor and start building a connection

• Learn something new based on your level and goals

• Receive a personalized practice assignment to take home

We want you to walk away feeling encouraged, informed, and excited to continue.

How long is the trial lesson?

Each trial lesson is 30 minutes.

That’s enough time to:

• Learn something new

• Ask questions

• Get a feel for your instructor and what’s possible

Prefer a longer trial?

We offer extended trial options:

45 or 60-minute lessons

• Ideal for adult students who want extra time to explore and connect

Just let us know when booking, and we’ll customize the session to fit your needs.

What's the cost?

The trial lesson is $45.

This includes:

• A private 30-minute session with a kind, professional instructor

• A personalized lesson experience — not just a preview

Practice notes to take home and guide your next steps

You’ll walk away with clarity, encouragement, and a solid feel for what lessons are like at Bartell Music Academy.

What instruments can I try?

We offer trial lessons for:

• Piano

• Guitar

• Voice

• Drums

• Bass

• Ukulele

• Violin/Fiddle

• Accordion

Not sure which one to choose?

Our team is happy to help you pick the best fit based on age, interest, and goals. Just ask when you book!

Do you provide instruments for the trial lesson?

Yes, we’ve got you covered.

• In-person: We’ll have an instrument ready for you at the Academy. No need to bring anything.

• Online: You’ll need your own instrument at home so you can fully participate.

Need help finding one?

Let us know! We’re happy to guide you before your trial.

What do I need to bring to my trial lesson?

For in-person lessons, just bring yourself!

We’ll provide everything else you need for your first session, including the instrument if needed.

If you already have an instrument at home (like a guitar, violin, or voice books), feel free to bring it so your teacher can better tailor the lesson to you. You'll also want to bring any music or curriculum you have already worked on.

If you’re doing an online lesson, please have your own instrument set up and ready to go.

Can I take the trial lesson online instead?

Yes, absolutely.

You can choose between:

• In-person lessons at our Spokane Academy

• Or a live Zoom lesson from the comfort of your home

Both options offer the same personalized instruction. Just let us know your preference when booking.

Can I schedule back-to-back lessons for siblings?

Yes, we love helping busy families.

• You can book multiple trial lessons at once for siblings during the sign-up process

• We’ll do our best to coordinate back-to-back or even simultaneous times

• This makes it easier to manage everyone’s schedule in one trip

Just mention your preferences when booking, and our friendly office team will help you set it up.

What if I need to reschedule?

We understand that life happens.

• If something comes up, just give us at least 24 hours’ notice, and we’ll be happy to help you reschedule

• We kindly ask that you limit rescheduling to one time, as your trial blocks a teacher’s dedicated time

• Multiple rebookings impact our instructors’ availability, and we want to respect everyone’s time

Need help? Our friendly office team is just a call, text, or email away — we’re here to support you every step of the way.
