Patricia Bartell is an internationally acclaimed accordionist, instructor, and champion whose passion is helping students unlock their full musical potential. Classically trained and widely versatile, Patricia has performed and competed around the world, earning titles and recognition for her technical excellence and expressive artistry.

With decades of teaching experience, Patricia is known for blending precision with encouragement, technique with creativity. She specializes in helping students of all levels—from absolute beginners to aspiring performers—build a strong foundation while developing their own unique voice on the accordion.

Patricia’s approach to teaching is holistic, dynamic, and deeply personalized. She believes that music is not just about mastering notes—it’s about building confidence, finding expression, and enjoying the journey every step of the way.

When she’s not teaching or performing, Patricia continues to advocate for the accordion as a dynamic, modern instrument that belongs on every stage—and in every heart.

Sam Thomas

Sam Thomas is a world champion accordionist and classically trained musician who first picked up the accordion at age 11 under the renowned Ilmar Kuljus. Early on, Sam devoted himself to the craft, competing nationally and internationally with a mindset rooted not in “natural talent,” but in the power of quality practice, discipline, and consistency.

After years of intense preparation and competition success—including achieving the status of world champion—Sam’s love for the accordion has only deepened. Today, he plays for pure joy, exploring jazz influences inspired by legends like Frank Marocco and Art Van Damme.

Since joining Bartell Music Academy in Fall 2024, Sam has dedicated himself to creating highly personalized lesson experiences for each student. He believes that every musician’s journey should be both skill-building and joyful, tailoring curricula based on each student’s individual goals, abilities, and pace.

His teaching philosophy? Music should be like a great board game—challenging, fun, and something you do because you love it.
